A daily GLP-1 pill, no needles
Foundayo (orforglipron) is an FDA-approved weight-management pill from Eli Lilly. It is not semaglutide, and unlike oral semaglutide it can be taken with or without food.
Free to book. You pay only if you go ahead with treatment.
Foundayo (orforglipron) is an FDA-approved weight-management pill from Eli Lilly, so you can skip weekly injections if a clinician decides it suits you.
Unlike oral semaglutide, Foundayo can be taken with or without food, with no 30-minute empty-stomach wait before breakfast or coffee.
Your clinician checks your full medication list, including birth control pills, statins and CYP3A4 drugs, and gives you birth control guidance during dose changes.
You start at 0.8 mg and move up gradually, with at least 30 days at each strength and follow-up on side effects and progress along the way.
Choose phone or video and list every medicine you take, including birth control, statins and antibiotics or antifungals.
In about 5–10 minutes, a licensed U.S. clinician checks your eligibility and drug interactions and decides whether Foundayo is appropriate.
If prescribed, a licensed U.S. pharmacy fills your first strength. Take one tablet a day at about the same time.
You move to 2.5 mg, then 5.5 mg. After that, your clinician may hold or continue up to 9, 14.5 or 17.2 mg based on response and side effects.
Foundayo is approved for long-term weight management in adults with obesity.
Such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes or sleep apnea.
No fasting window and no refrigeration make it easier for busy mornings and travel.
A daily tablet removes needles from the picture entirely.
Anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, taking another GLP-1 medicine or with medullary thyroid cancer (yours or a family member's) or MEN 2.

Most GLP-1 medicines, including semaglutide and tirzepatide, are peptides: chains of amino acids that the stomach tends to break down. Orforglipron is a small, non-peptide molecule designed to be absorbed as an ordinary pill. It still switches on GLP-1 receptors, which lowers appetite, helps you feel full sooner and slows digestion.
The FDA approved Foundayo on April 1, 2026, for chronic weight management in adults with obesity, or with overweight and at least one weight-related condition, used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and more physical activity.
The practical difference from oral semaglutide is the routine. There is no requirement to take Foundayo on an empty stomach or wait before eating, so it can fit around breakfast, a commute or other morning pills. It does have its own set of drug interactions, including one that affects birth control pills, which your clinician reviews with you.

The label sets out a gradual climb, with at least 30 days at each strength before moving up. Not everyone needs to reach the top dose.
Orforglipron is processed differently from semaglutide, so the interaction list looks different too. These are the main ones on the label.
Both are once-daily tablets approved for weight management in adults. The Wegovy pill contains semaglutide, must be taken on an empty stomach with a 30-minute wait and is also approved to lower cardiovascular risk in people with heart disease. Foundayo contains orforglipron, can be taken with or without food and has more interactions to check. Your clinician can help you weigh routine, other medicines and cost.
Foundayo carries a boxed warning about thyroid C-cell tumors, as other GLP-1 medicines do. Your clinician screens for the following before you start.

The FDA approved Foundayo on April 1, 2026, for chronic weight management in adults with obesity, or with overweight and at least one weight-related condition.
No. The label says it can be taken with or without food. Take it once a day at about the same time and swallow it whole.
It can make oral contraceptives less reliable. The label advises switching to a non-oral method, or adding a barrier method, for 30 days after you start and for 30 days after each dose increase.
Take it as soon as you remember, but do not double up. If you miss 7 or more doses in a row, contact your clinician, because you may need to restart at a lower dose.
Starting at 0.8 mg and stepping up no faster than every 30 days gives your digestive system time to adjust. Moving up too quickly makes nausea and vomiting more likely. Your clinician may keep you at a step longer if you need it.
As of this review, Foundayo is approved for weight management, not for treating type 2 diabetes. People with type 2 diabetes may still qualify for weight management, and any insulin or sulfonylurea doses may need lowering.
Both are daily tablets for weight management in adults. Foundayo has no empty-stomach rule, while the Wegovy pill does but also carries a heart-risk reduction approval. Your clinician helps you choose based on your routine and health.
Stomach symptoms such as nausea, constipation, diarrhea and vomiting are the most common, especially after a dose increase. Headache, tiredness, reflux and hair loss have also been reported.
Often yes, but if you take simvastatin the label limits it to 20 mg a day. Tell your clinician about every cholesterol medicine you use.
No. Safety and effectiveness in people under 18 have not been established.
Foundayo is not recommended while breastfeeding. Your clinician can talk through other options for after you have finished nursing.
Keep it in the original container, tightly closed, at room temperature and away from light, heat and moisture. A bathroom cabinet is not a good place.
Program pricing starts from $149/mo. Brand medication may cost extra depending on how it is filled, and your clinician confirms the total before prescribing.
