Brand tirzepatide in vial form
Zepbound vials hold the same FDA-approved tirzepatide as the pens, but you draw each dose into a syringe yourself. Find out if the vial suits you in a short online visit.
Free to book. You pay only if you go ahead with treatment.
Zepbound vials contain the same FDA-approved tirzepatide as the pens, in every strength from 2.5 mg to 15 mg.
Your clinician prescribes syringes that can measure your exact dose volume, whether you use single-dose or multi-dose vials.
You get clear guidance on drawing up and injecting each weekly dose, plus storage and sharps disposal tips.
Your clinician confirms the total cost of brand medication before prescribing, and planned dose increases come with follow-up visits.
Book a phone or video call online. No insurance or referral needed.
In 5–10 minutes, a licensed U.S. clinician looks at your weight history, conditions and medicines and asks whether you are comfortable drawing up doses.
If Zepbound is appropriate, your clinician prescribes vials at the 2.5 mg starter strength and the syringes you need to measure each dose.
Your clinician explains the draw-up steps before your first dose, and you can message the care team with questions.
Follow-up visits decide when to move to the next strength and whether to stay on vials or switch formats.
Obesity, overweight with a weight-related condition, or obesity with diagnosed moderate to severe sleep apnea.
You can read small syringe markings, draw an exact volume and inject yourself, or someone at home can help.
Vials let you use the FDA-approved product while still using a vial-and-syringe routine.
People who have taken insulin, fertility drugs or other syringe medicines usually pick up the steps quickly.
If you have trouble seeing fine print, have shaky hands or feel strongly uneasy about needles. A Zepbound pen may be simpler. Zepbound is not used at all with a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2, or during pregnancy.

Zepbound is Eli Lilly's brand of tirzepatide, approved by the FDA for long-term weight management in adults and for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity. Besides pens, it is made in glass vials. You use a standard syringe to pull the dose out of the vial and inject it under your skin.
There are two vial types. A single-dose vial holds one weekly dose of 0.5 mL and is thrown away after use. A multi-dose vial holds four weekly doses of 0.6 mL each. Both come in every Zepbound strength, from 2.5 mg to 15 mg, and both contain brand medicine made under FDA approval rather than a compounded product.
People often pick vials for cost or availability, or because they already inject with syringes. The trade-off is a few extra steps each week. A licensed U.S. clinician at My IV Doctors can talk through whether vials, a pen or another medicine is the better fit, and confirms the total cost of brand medication before prescribing.
Read the Instructions for Use that come with your vial; single-dose and multi-dose vials each have their own, and these steps are an overview only. Use a syringe that can measure 0.5 mL for a single-dose vial or 0.6 mL for a multi-dose vial, such as a 1 mL syringe, and use a new syringe and needle every time.
With single-dose vials, you open a new vial each week and throw it away after one draw, even if a little liquid is left. With the multi-dose vial, you draw four weekly doses from the same vial, so you must clean the stopper each time and follow the discard date on the instructions.
Unopened vials go in the refrigerator. MedlinePlus notes that tirzepatide pens or vials can be kept at room temperature for up to 21 days if needed, and should not go back in the fridge afterward. Never freeze a vial.
Vials follow the same label schedule as every Zepbound form: 2.5 mg weekly for four weeks, then 5 mg, with optional 2.5 mg increases after at least four weeks, to a maximum of 15 mg. Maintenance for weight is 5, 10 or 15 mg; for sleep apnea it is 10 or 15 mg.
Because the medicine is identical to the pens, the trial results in the FDA label apply equally. Your clinician will set expectations based on your own health rather than averages.
The medicine carries the same warnings as every Zepbound product. Measuring the dose yourself adds one more thing to get right.
