Wyoming service dog laws
Wyoming ties its service animal rules straight to the ADA. Wyo. Stat. 35-13-201 promises full and equal access to public accommodations and public facilities, and it points to the federal regulations for how service animals are treated there. The state definition in 35-13-205 also covers miniature horses and dogs being trained for disability-related tasks.
- There is no separate trainer access section; dogs in training are brought in through the state's service animal definition.
- Interfering with a person's rights under the statute is a misdemeanor with a fine of up to $750 (35-13-203).
- Public accommodations aren't liable for damage or injury caused by a service animal, or by an animal they believed in good faith was one.
- Intentionally harming a service or assistance animal can mean jail time, a fine of up to $5,000 and mandatory restitution (35-13-206).
